US Tech giants face antitrust scrutiny in Italy
Italian Competition authority imposed a fine of 200 million Euros on US tech giants, Amazon and Apple, for collusive conduct in the sale of Apple and Beats products impacting the competition of prices. Claiming the fine to be “disproportionate and unjustified”, the affected parties plan to challenge the penalty.

Rs. 200 crore penalty imposed by CCI on Maruti was stayed by NCLAT on 22.11.21 subject to depositing 10% amount.
US Judge does not find Valve to be engaged in anticompetitive practices.
The antitrust law suit filed by Wolfire against Valve, concerning anticompetitive practice by having supra-competitive fees for the sale of their games, was dismissed by US District Judge. As per the Judge, the complaint did “not articulate sufficient facts to plausibly allege an antitrust injury based on that market.”
“USCC accuses FTC of waging war against business”
US Chamber of Commerce accused FTC of overstepping its authority. FTC spokeswoman Lindsay Kryzak said, “We will continue to do our job and stand up for consumers, honest businesses, workers and entrepreneurs who deserve a fair marketplace.”
