Cartel busted about supplies to FCI on information by KK Sharma Law Offices
On 29.10.2021, the Competition Commission of India held six firms, supplying Low Density Poly Ethylene (‘LDPE’) covers, guilty of cartelisation and bid rigging in violation of the Competition Act, 2002.
The compelling evidence marshalled by KK Sharma Law Offices, representing Food Corporation of India, made four out of six firms to immediately admit their guilt and come before the Commission with folded hands and a prayer for being let off.
After holding the firms guilty of violation of the law, the firms were directed not to indulge in this conduct again and spared huge monetary fines merely on the ground of mercy, lest they should be wiped out of the market.
