A public consultation, aimed at assessing the effectiveness of competition regulations governing vertical agreements within the automotive sector, has been initiated by the European Commission (‘EC’). This action forms a part of a wider assessment of the Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Regulation (‘MVBER’) and it’s Supplementary Guidelines (‘SGL’). This will be followed by examining the impact of the Vertical Block Exemption Regulation (‘VBER’) and the Guidelines on Vertical Restraints in the industry.
