CCI asked to re-examine its directive to share confidential data of Swiggy with NRAI

The Karnataka High Court has asked the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to re-examine its directive of sharing confidential data of Swiggy with National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI). An information was filed by NRAI before the CCI against Swiggy and Zomato, which had led to investigation in the matter. The unredacted version of the DG’s report contained sensitive business information about Swiggy & Zomato and the access of it was provided to NRAI.

The State of Rajasthan Tells Supreme Court that it is in the Process Of Bringing Anti-Conversion Law

The State of Rajasthan has informed the Supreme Court that it is in the process of making an anti-conversion law. In an affidavit filed in response to a PIL seeking to prevent fraudulent and forceful religious conversions, the State submitted that it does not have any specific legislation dealing with religious conversions and submitted that it “is in the process of bringing its own legislation and till such time it will strictly abide by the law on the subject and guidelines issued by the Supreme Court.”

A Likely Delay in Disney-Reliance OTT Merger

The merger between Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries Limited’s Viacom18 and Walt Disney’s Star India might face delays despite receiving approval from the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) last month. The delay is because the Competition Commission of India (CCI) wants to study the merger closely to see how it will affect market competition. Both companies have submitted a form called Form 2, which is used to notify the CCI about big mergers that could impact competition.
