Long cohabitation won’t amount to marriage, when one is already married: KHC

The Kerala High Court (KHC), while dealing with an appeal filed by a woman challenging the family court’s order which had declared another woman as the legally wedded wife of his husband, has held that cohabitation, however long it may be, “will not acquire the character of a valid marriage, if it is during the subsistence of another marriage”. The KHC, noting that the other woman’s name was absent in all of man’s service records, upheld the order of the family court.
